Drabble Cycle: Alternate Universes

There's a new drabble cycle round over at
femslash100. The theme for this round is Alternate Universes, which sounds pretty awesome. But besides my usual problem - which fandom/pairing to pick - I'm not certain if me and alternate universes would be a good team. It seems difficult to make it work and those attempts I made at writting AUs felt... kinda weird.
Any advices? Suggestions? Fandom/pairing proposals are also welcome :)

thanks, Clara.

Date: 2015-10-15 07:33 pm (UTC)I'd like to pick a single ship (or at least a single fandom) this time around (at least once) so I haven't made a claim yet in this cycle, but it'll last a while, so I'm not really worried about it. I have a few things to finish first, anyway.

Date: 2015-10-16 07:57 am (UTC)thanks for the link, I'll definitely check it out. I have an almost finished table over at
I've decided on a fandom for this cycle in the meantime, not sure to claim the general fandom or a pairing yet.
oh yes, I have a few things to finish first too. who doesn't? =)
thanks for your thoughts on this.

Date: 2015-10-15 10:05 pm (UTC)I guess you could look at fandoms with a built in AU already like Fringe or pretty much any Sci-fi fandom.
Another way to go would be characters that you are really comfortable writing. If you know the characters it's easier to drop them into a new situation.
Hope that's a bit helpful! I'm sure whatever you decide will be excellent!

Date: 2015-10-16 08:02 am (UTC)I've decided on a fandom in the meantime, there's only the question left of claiming the general fandom or a pairing. but you're absolutely right, it's easier to write for characters you've known/written for a while.of course it was very helpful. thank you for your thoughts.
